MO is a new magazine about fashion, style, production and entrepreneurship in the Afrikaanderwijk, the South of Rotterdam.

This magazine is a publication of Stichting Freehouse. Together with residents, local entrepreneurs and artists, Freehouse develops a series of projects, products and services in the Afrikaanderwijk. The main focus lies with stimulating cultural entrepreneurship and local production. The goal is to stimulate and strengthen the areas economy and therefore strengthening the area as a whole. Hence the areas residents and their qualities are made more visible. An example of one of the projects would be Freehouse ‘Wijkatelier (the areas design studio) where professional skills like, sewing and embroidery are joined with clients among which are artist, fashion designers and architects.

MO follows up in this direction with the main focus on fashion. Everything in this magazine, from models, to make-up artists, designers, restaurants and photographers are from the Afrikaanderwijk and the magazine is designed in the spirit of the area. It shows what the area and it’s immediate surroundings has to offer. It shows what is going on, what the trends are, who the people are and what you can buy where. You can read interesting interviews, tips where to get the best ice cream, where to shop on the market, how to do your hair in summer time etc. We have showed and visualized that the beautiful, glamorous and cool fashion world is created and produced just around the corner.
